and other character impressions

kirby's amazing for me... oddly enough i didn't like him first game (when he was statistically amazing) and in melee... (when he was statistically terrible... even though i liked pichu and mewtwo?) ...yet he is my favourite and possibly best char in brawl so far?

i probably would of never tried him if i didn't like his new up two taunts... (up taunt is amazing...)

but i'm past those taunts! crouching is a bit of a halo-esque "taunt" ...but with kirby it's just as amazing due to squished air puff sound effects!

but yes, before i actually trapped an enemy with holding down the attack button in shadow moses island against the wall... got him to 999% from like 30ish%... yeah, attack damage/kockback degeneration with multiple hits now doesn't seem to happen during all the same attack. so each individual hit from the neutral attack was climbing just as fast from 900 to 999 as it did when it was 100 to 199.

samus was ruined for me because her down special is lame... i can still play as her and zamus, but it's not as fun. although it is fun to use her final smashes and actually see them kill people... my other chars aren't so famous for having well, good final smashes except her. ...although, i'm having good learning curve with samus/zamus. (whips are amazing! up special can get someone traped so easy, and forward smash on the ground is surprisingly decent as a kill move. if only she had better recovery. :s

peach is a little worse than before, i just need to get used to her floatyness in the new physics engine before i'm that worthwhile again with peach. (she's amazing for makings sure no one gets to kill anyone with a final smash though, even her! ) ...the only real disappointment is well, down smash. it was expected, but i didn't think it would be this much of a nerf.

pikachu... oh so how you have improved! you stole peach's down smash! (well, not really, but yours is better than peaches now ) ...down special is faster and more painful, up special can be used in combo pretty decently. recovery with pikachu is still nice and it's still surprisngly difficult to take pikachu down. up tilt improvement and aerials have been relatively unchanged make comboing not just the standard juggle.

zelda is better! i was pretty good with her before, but now she has been given a buff which probably can make me fairly competitive of a player with her! her air moves have been given a nice boost in knockback (even forward air! ) ...most noticeably up air actually does something now. pretty much all the attacks i even use with her have been improved. i really should try getting better with her, but yeah, kirby is currently too fun to not practice for very long

marth... he seems... unchanged for the most part, but this new physics engine is probably why i'm a bit worse with him... HOWEVER, since all "counter attack stances" in brawl last much longer than melee... i can be even MORE of a counter whore with marth than before. (and before it was bad... my friends banned me from playing him it was so bad... and after that they banned me from using peach's down smash... fun fun) ...but oh well,

PIKMIN! olimar. PIKMIN! olimar. PIKMIN! olimar.
has the best crowd favourite cheer. and is hereby the funnest character, imo. his fault is the need to tether recovery and pull pikmin. pulling pikmin isn't hard, since it takes no time to leave you open for attack the vast majority of the time. but yeah, it's fun deciding what kind of attack is best for you to do depending on what pikmin you have next. so my play style with him some people seem to see is kinda random, so they can't counter my play with him very easily, and yes, i do want to improve with this character, even if long term he may not be the most amazing thing ever, he still is fun.

(yes it's saturday i know, and yes i did sleep for like, 13-14 hours last night or something SOMEHOW i have no idea and yeah... but for now, i'd like to ATTEMPT to get a regular sleeping schedule at some point in time :s )
